City of Lake Charles Inclement Weather Closure - Tuesday, January 21, 2025
According to City Administrator John Cardone, all City of Lake Charles administrative offices and services, including City Hall, will be closed during regular business hours on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The closure is due to inclement weather and the potential for icy road conditions.
City services are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Transit operations will be suspended during this time as road conditions could be dangerous.
Weather conditions permitting, Solid Waste personnel will empty trash cans on Wednesday, January 22, with personnel running the normal Monday collection routes as soon as conditions allow them to safely do so. Trash cans only will be emptied for Tuesday’s routes on Thursday, January 23; weather permitting. Thursday’s route will be run on Friday, January 24, and Friday’s routes will be run on Saturday, January 25.
The Nelson Road/Alma Lane Recycling Station, Green Truck Recycling service and Solid Waste Incinerator will be closed on Tuesday, January 21. These operations are scheduled to resume with their regular schedules on Wednesday, January 22.
Residents are urged to take caution while driving due to the possibility of ice that is not visible. All public safety employees and public works crews will be continuously monitoring street conditions.
