Lock Park "Family Friendly Zone" during 2013 Mardi Gras Parade Activities
On Wednesday, February 6, at the City Council Meeting, the Lake Charles City Council approved a resolution declaring Lock Park a "Family Friendly Zone" during the 2013 Mardi Gras parade activities. The resolution requests the Lake Charles Police Department to enforce the provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the City that prohibit the possession, consumption and/or sale of alcoholic beverages in parks within the City and prohibit parking within the Lock Park grounds during the 2013 Mardi Gras parades.
Said John Cardone, City Administrator:
"The "Family Friendly Zone" resolution by the City Council helps ensure that Lock Park and the other City parks will continue to provide a family friendly experience during the Mardi Gras 2013 festivities. We encourage the public to visit the parks during Mardi Gras and have a great time."
