City of Lake Charles Announces Mayor's Commission on Disability
2012 Employer Recognition Awards
Each year, the Mayor's Commission on Disability accepts nominations for the Lake Charles Employer Recognition Awards. These awards are presented to people and organizations whose contributions have advanced the opportunities for individuals with disabilities for full participation in life by providing employment opportunities.
Considerations for nominating an employer include the following:

Hires individuals with disabilities as regular practice

Accommodates employee with disability in the workplace

Encourages policies and/or practices that demonstrate equitable treatment of employees, i.e., wages, promotions, benefits, etc.
Receiving the award on behalf of this year's recipients at the annual awards luncheon at Pat's of Henderson on December 20, 2012 were Roger Porter for Aeroframe, David and Jeremy Stine for Stine, Chad Guidry for Brookshire Brothers, Tony Lemaire and Randy Belshe for Peaux Boys Deli, Margaret McCloskey for PDI of the South, and Jessica Austin for Market Basket #18.
