The City of Lake Charles is proud to announce plans for its annual Red, White, Blue & You Celebration. This celebration includes two free patriotic concerts at the Lake Charles Event Center, with events beginning on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the United States Air Force Band of the West’s spectacular 4th of July Concert Tour will make a stop at the Lake Charles Event Center’s Rosa Hart Theatre. This free concert will feature a patriotic musical extravaganza that promises to captivate the audience with a diverse program, ranging from big band hits of the 1940s to brand-new compositions written exclusively for this tour.

Doors will open at 5 pm and the show will begin at 6 pm. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Independence Day, Thursday, July 4, 2024, will feature concessions, face painting and a jaw-dropping fireworks display over the lake.

The program will begin at 5:30 pm with patriotic sounds from Lake Charles Community Band’s 25-piece “Bayou Big Band.” The Flamethrowers will take the stage at 7:00 p.m.

Sparks will fly beginning at 9:15 p.m. with a fireworks extravaganza choreographed to music. Tune into KBYS 88.3 FM on your car radio or listening device for the soundtrack simulcast.

Spectators are encouraged to bring their blankets or lawn chairs. If inclement weather prevails, the program will be moved to the Event Center’s Sudduth Coliseum.

The City of Lake Charles is also excited to announce the winner of its Red, White, Blue & You logo design contest. Elise Fox, a student at SOWELA Technical Community College, was selected as this year’s winner. The logo design contest is a staple semester project under the direction of SOWELA instructor Darrell Buck.

The popular, family-friendly event is presented by the City of Lake Charles, Coca-Cola, Visit Lake Charles, Entergy, Lake Charles Toyota and Howell Furniture. Additional support is provided by M&C Oilfield Services, Herc Rentals, Lake Area Adventures, Game2Life and KBYS 88.3FM.
