Beach Sweep and Inland Waterway Cleanup Day is an activity held on the third Saturday in September in conjunction with the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup.  Individuals, groups, schools, and organizations participate in collecting litter from the region’s beaches, coast, shorelines, and inland waterways.  Data cards are filled out and submitted to the Office of Community Services and Development.  The information is then used to create reports to submit to Keep Louisiana Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful which uses it in national statistics.  If you are interested in participating in Beach Sweep and Inland Waterway Cleanup, please contact the Keep Greater Lake Charles Beautiful-Team Green office at (337) 491-1481 to have your name and email placed on the information distribution list.
